~ Translucent Orange ~ Dixie Co. Florida ~ Simpson Spear Point ~
Length: 2 1/2"
Grade: 8
Description: Beautiful orange Simpson Spear point. Missing a tiny bit off one ear. Masterfully fluted on one face extending 3/4" above the base with 2 parallel flutes. The opposite side has some smaller thinning strikes. The material is a translucent orange Chalcedony with suspended floatsam and jetsam in the matrix. A high bar was set by the quality of the workmanship on this ancient spear. The tiny nicks keeps it affordable, and it could be easily restored.
Provenance: Found on private property with permission in Dixie Co. Florida. Ex: Charles Moore Collection.
