Description: A complete and whole Archaic Soapstone (Steatite) 2 holed Gorget. The stone was probably traded in from north Georgia. These are rare to find particularly in south Georgia. These were manufactured by first shaping the stone by pecking or grinding. Lastly the 2 holes were drilled out with a flaked stone drill bit. This would make a nice center piece in a display frame.
