Description: This weathered Sandstone effigy appears to be a human possibly female either holding a child or it may depict a pregnant female and could be termed a fetish or fertility symbol. Although details have been softened by time and erosion of the surface the fact that it is an human effigy is plain to see. A very rare and cool artifact.
Provenance: Found many years ago on private property with permission within the Withlacoochee River Basin in the Dunellon area in Levy Co. Florida. From an old collection cabineted for decades.
