Description: A super example of an Adena Age, Woodland Hemitite Cone. Although there exact function is unknown, what is known is that these rare specialize Cones shaped objects were meticulously made from some of the hardest stones and were almost always in the possesion of the tribes Shaman or Medicene Man. It is theorized that these stone were imbued with special healing powers and would be held in the hand and moved or slid back and forth over a sick persons body by the medicene man while he would sing repeated incantations and spells to cast out the sickness or wicked spirits that was plaging the patient. Hemitite is a dense iron stone and seems to have been the prefered material used. These were pecked and ground smooth and highly polished. Comes with a Jerry Dickey C.O.A.
