Description: Cache of polished Greenstone Adzes found in East Windsor Hill Connecticut. The largest is 8 1/2" while the smaller one is 6" long. These 2 were found together on the Connecticut River just above the city of Hartford many many years ago. These were no doubt woodworking tools, most likely to create dugout canoes. Probably from the Mississppian Era 1200 to 1500 AD
Provenance: Found just north of Hartford Connecticut. From a very old collection. Ex Michael Kerr Collection.
