Description: Rattle Head Human Effigy. This represent a human figure, perhaps a man that would have been incorperated into the lip of a bowl that has since broken off in ancient times. These are commonly called 'Tail-Riders'. The rattle head refers to the fact that this effigy head is hollow and is filled with beads that rattle when you shake it. Rare and desirable relic from the Middle Mississippian era. AD 1300 -1500 AD.
