Description: Beautiful flaked and polished Adze made of orange and green Jasper. The polish comes from long use. These were wood working tools used to dig out canoes and similar uses. In the last picture you can see how these were hafted. I have a small group of these I acquired this in an old North Alabama Collection, but I belief this one to be the best of the bunch.

Provenance: Found on private property with permission in the 1940's in Jackson Co. Alabama, Tennessee River Basin. Lake Guntersville was impounded in 1938 and this was collected soon after.
