Description: Very unusual Shell Gorget (Pendant) made from the exterior whorl of a Lightnng Welk Shell. This was made during the Mississippian Era 1300 -1500 AD. Patination leaves little doubt as to its authenticity. A total of 24 holes have been drill thru the shell with 2 holes at the top for suspension. The drawing is to help see that there is indeed a pattern here. What it's meaning is is lost to time.
