Description: One of the rarest types of Early Archaic Bolen Culture point types, this High Notch Bolen has everything you want; classic lines, good size, beautiful black material, wonderful workmanship and highly polished as well. Carefully executed pressure flaking along the blade edge made for a gentle transitioning of the alternate beveling, indicated that this point at most, only had a couple of resharpening events. Amazing skill exhibited with the percussion flaking which created a blade with not stacks or bumps, nice and smooth across the whole blade. The base was thinned by a series of tiny flute flakes carried off on both sides. There is some base grinding present as well as some grinding on the edges of the stem. A high end collectors grade point.
