Florida ~ Pendant / Gorget ~ Drill Bit?
Length: 2 7/8"
Grade: 7
Description: Made of Florida Chert. Nice mahogany brown patina. Shows use wear about 1/2" from the tip of the bit only. My guess is that this was used to drill the conical holes commonly found in Pendants and Gorgets. It is thicker than most drill perhaps to enable it to pierce hard thick stone, shell or bone objects.
Provenance: Found on private property with permission. Suwannee Co. Florida.
