Super Ornate Indian Flint Lock Pistol Esctcheon Plate
Length: 1 3/4"
Grade: 9
Description: Found on a large Creek Indian Settlement in Elmore Co. Alabama near the Tallapoosa River. An unusually ornate and rare style of decorative brass that would have been inlaid or screwed in or tacked onto the top of the wooden stock of a Flint Lock Pistol. In the last picture you see a similar example of how these were positioned onto the Muzzle Loading Gun. This would date to the middle of the 1700's. Possibly a French Trade Gun.
Provenance: Found on private property with permission from Elmore Co. Alabama.
