Stunning Tiger Striped ~ Hamilton Knife ~
Length: 4"
Grade: 8
Description: This classic Late Archaic (3,500 -5,000 BP) Hamilton knife has absolutely stunning coloration. With one flake scar mahogany brown directly next to flake scar that is gold colored. The mahogany brown is left over from the blade blank that was fired (heat treated) When finishing the blade, underneath the mahogany brown, the gold-colored material emerged to the surface as each flake was driven off. Like so many Hamilton Knives this example has the blunted tip. The entire blade is heavily worked with edge pressure flaking along the edges.
