Interesting Wacissa
Length: 2 3/4"
Grade: 7
Description: Interesting Wacissa- because on one face you can clearly see the polished flake that this Indian sourced to produce this point. So more than likely, what happened is he (or she) was walking a gravel bar and saw a large sherd of Chert that they could use to fashion this tool. And another deduction we can make is that the shard had been struck off of a core by another earlier Indian and that it already been in the water long enough to take on a polish. Perhaps it had been in the stream for hundreds maybe thousands of years because of the polish you can see on the one side.
Provenance: Found on private property with permission in Leon Co. Florida.
