Description: This long Flaked Adze or Celt is made of Florida Coastal Plains Chert. Most of these Wood Working (Canoe Making) Tools are found exhausted, but this one is still 5 inches long. You can easily see where the bit has been polished smooth from use wear. These style of flake Celts were in use throughout the Late Archaic to Woodland time period. The last picture show how they were hafted.
